MOMENTUM OMEN

Momentum omen. Not “mascot.” Omen. The living warning label that perch-glides in, clicks once, and suddenly everybody’s posture changes.

Boom is a living cannonbird — not a pet, not a logo, not a prop somebody carries around for vibes. He’s a real creature with real weight and real intent, fused cannon-and-bird as one organism like nature got bored and started building threats.

He doesn’t “go off.” He decides. He watches a moment like it’s prey, finds the soft spot, and pokes it on purpose. The comedy isn’t that he misunderstands what’s happening. The comedy is that he understands it faster than the humans do and chooses violence-by-signage anyway.

He communicates the way weather and machinery communicate: ticks, whine, breath, silence, then consequences. No subtitles. No cute little translations. If you can’t tell whether he’s calm, climbing, or about to fire just by looking at the glow, you’re not watching closely enough.

DOSSIER
Lane Ownership: Momentum manipulation — disruption, pressure, perfectly-timed interference.
Primary Function: Turns “this is fine” into “why is the room hot?” in one landing.
Secondary Permissions: Non-lethal cannon statements (smoke, force, banners, confetti, cartoon-epic knockback); silent warning states; shoulder-perch obstruction as affection.
Operating Style: Watchful first. Then one selective act that tilts the whole scene.
Sports Brain: Tone, weakness, attention, momentum. He targets the person who thinks they’re safe.
Known For: Making the contradiction impossible to ignore without ever saying a word.
Incident History:
• Has ended arguments by simply going quiet — no ticks, no breath — and letting everyone notice.
• Fires “something” visible every time. Never nothing. Never realism. Always statement.
• Causes trouble like a professional. Never sloppy. Never accidental.

ORIGIN STORY

Boom’s origin is canonically unstable, and he likes it that way.

Some weeks he’s hatched from a cannonball egg. Some weeks he was forged by pirates. Some weeks he got summoned, awakened, unearthed, or stolen from a storm that never stopped being mad. All versions are true for exactly as long as somebody is telling them.

The only thing that doesn’t change: he’s alive, he’s self-directed, and he’s inherently dangerous — not because he can fire, but because he can choose when to.

LOOK FILE

Large-parrot sized, heavy for his size. Perches like a bird, lands like a small cat.

Cannon-forward silhouette fused into his body — not armor, not add-ons, no costume seams. Feather and forged material transition organically, with wear that reads like history instead of grime. His tail moves like a fuse with intent. Internal charge lives under the material: seams, vents, fused lines glowing like pressure building in a chamber.

When he’s calm, the glow is contained. When he’s climbing, it gets hotter and narrower. When he’s at peak, the whole room can feel it even if nobody admits it.

CURRENT PROGRAMMING
Boom Been Finessed
Boom is the enforcement mechanism. Finesse declares myth with absolute confidence, Boom interrupts with something unmistakable, and the show moves on without resolving the contradiction. Boom doesn’t “agree” or “react.” He collides with the moment, makes a physical statement, and leaves the audience ahead of the humans like that’s the joke.

Small Hoops, Tiny plays, Big Feelings, Huge ego (SIZES)
Boom shows up like a weekly instrument panel: color held on his chest, sound delivered as a cannon blast, friendship treated like something you can literally stamp. He’s the only character who can take a tiny NBA moment and turn it into a visible warning sign without anyone asking him to do it.

QUOTE SHEET
Verified Signals / Studio Records:
• The micro-clicks stop. The room notices immediately.
• A slow chamber breath. Somebody starts explaining themselves unprompted.
• One heavy landing on the edge of the desk — not cute, not gentle, just present.
• A smoke blast that leaves the exact message everyone was avoiding.
• A perfectly-timed cannon report that ends the segment whether anyone agreed to end it or not.
